The grant will allow the Great Yarmouth based, Phoenix Karate School, to purchase specific training equipment crucial for preparing their students for high-level competitions. This equipment will significantly enhance their training, ensuring they are well-equipped for the challenges of international competitions.

Karate competition support

This support will enable Phoenix Karate School students to participate in the European Championships in October 2024 in Poland. Competing at this level is a remarkable achievement, offering unique opportunities for these young athletes.  The grant provides students with opportunities that might otherwise be beyond their financial reach.

By competing internationally, Phoenix Karate School hopes to inspire other potential students to pursue excellence in karate. The school actively showcases their talents within the local community, encouraging more young people to get involved in sports, thus improving their health and well-being.

From the chairman…

“Phoenix Karate Schools would like to thank GYS&LT for their continued support for our students as we prepare to compete at the WUKF European Karate Championships 2024 in Poland in October.

This funding will allow us to purchase some specialist training equipment that will aid us to maximise our training and help our athletes prepare themselves to compete against other elite competitors from all over Europe. Last years’ success at the World Championships where our group brought home 17 medals and several World Champions has given us the confidence that we can go even further this time round and hopefully bring home some European medals back to Great Yarmouth.”
