How Sweaty Mamas Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft is Transforming Mums and the Community Thanks to a New Grant

A Fitness Revolution for Mums

When you think about fitness classes, you might picture high-energy workouts, intense sweat sessions, and a room full of determined people. But for many mums, getting to these classes feels like an impossible task. Enter Sweaty Mama Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft —a fitness revolution that’s shaking things up in the local community.

Thanks to a recent grant from the Great Yarmouth Sport & Leisure Trust, Sweaty Mama is expanding its reach and transforming the fitness experience for mums across the Great Yarmouth region.

More Than Just a Workout

Sweaty Mama isn’t your typical fitness class. These sessions are designed to be inclusive, ensuring that every mum—no matter her fitness level—can participate. The classes incorporate babies and toddlers into the workouts, making them part of the experience.

Thanks to the grant, Sweaty Mama can now invest in new equipment and enhance the overall experience, turning exercise into a fun, family-friendly activity.

" My classes not only mean mums do not need childcare, but they also do not need to worry about spending time on themselves without their little ones as my classes are designed to involve the little ones in the session by being extra resistance in the session should mum wish to” says Charlotte Hargrove, the passionate leader behind the Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft Sweaty Mamas

The Power of Connection

One of the biggest challenges new mums face is finding time for themselves without feeling guilty. Sweaty Mamas turns this struggle on its head by creating a space where mums can focus on their well-being while still being with their little ones.

This isn’t just about physical health—it’s about mental well-being too. With the support of the grant, Sweaty Mamas is expanding its ability to offer a supportive community where mums can combat isolation and stress.

Community Impact: A Ripple Effect

Thanks to the recent grant from the Great Yarmouth Sport & Leisure Trust, Sweaty Mamas is set to make an even bigger impact on the local community.

This funding allows the group to expand its reach, offering more classes and ensuring that no mum is left out. The grant will fund new equipment, eye-catching advertising, and possibly additional classes or a new venue, creating a positive ripple effect throughout Great Yarmouth.

Building a Village

The phrase “It takes a village to raise a child” is often heard, but it can be hard to find that village in today’s fast-paced world. Sweaty Mamas is creating that village right here in Great Yarmouth.

With the help of the Great Yarmouth Sport & Leisure Trust, Sweaty Mamas is growing its ability to provide a space where mums can find not just fitness, but friendship and support.

My classes also offer mums chance to meet other likeminded mums and form connections/friendships. It takes a village to raise a child and I intend to create this village!” continues Charlotte Hargrove.

A Brighter, Healthier Future for All

As Sweaty Mamas continues to expand with the help of the grant, the impact on the community is clear. This isn’t just about getting fit—it’s about building a stronger, more connected Great Yarmouth.

From the mums who attend the classes to the local businesses that benefit from the growth, Sweaty Mamas is creating positive change across the board.
